Michigan AmeriCorps Partnership
AmeriCorps is a domestic version of the Peace Corps that offers a network of national service programs engaging more than 50,000 Americans each year in service to meet critical needs within the United States. Initiated in 1995, the Michigan AmeriCorps Partnership places graduate and undergraduate students and community members with Detroit nonprofit organizations to address needs related to education, urban planning, social work, public health, and economic development. Members receive a bi-weekly stipend and an educational award at the end of their service.
