Welcome to the Household Influenza Vaccine Effectiveness (HIVE) study website. HIVE is a research study being conducted by investigators from the University of Michigan School of Public Health, with funding from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

The purpose of the study is to find out how well this year's influenza vaccine works in preventing influenza illnesses and how influenza viruses spread among people living in households with children.  We are currently recruiting households in the Ann Arbor, Michigan area to participate. Households are compensated for their time. Influenza vaccination is NOT required for participation.
